British Organization to Promote Switching LED Lighting for Buildings

The Climate Group, a UK based organization, has been partnered with Signify to propose worldwide business to adopt LEDs for indoor lighting with the aim to reduce greenhouse gas emission.

According to Signify, by switching LEDs for the private sector buildings across the world, it is expected to avoid 403 million tons of CO2 emissions and save cost up to US$94 billion.

Installing LED lighting not only diminish the carbon emissions and reduce energy cost, the lighting can also link to sensors, smart control, and the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to improve the working proficiency. The Climate Group is currently building network with multinational companies and solution providers to push a global switch to LEDs for buildings.

“Connected indoor LED lighting not only achieves unprecedented energy savings, it can facilitate many use cases enabled by IOT. Connected Lighting can do so much more enabling users to understand their space utilization, improve performance, send high bandwidth data, help employees find spaces to work and much more,” said Derek Wright, Global Head of Office & Services, Signify.
