LG Innotek Releases Blue Light Controlled LED for Eye Comfort

Based on researches of wavelength of light, LG Innotek revealed a functional “eye-pleasing (EP)”LED package which controls the wavelength of blue light.

According to LG Innotek, compared with sunlight or conventional LEDs, its EP LED gives less stress to the eye as it controls the wavelength of blue light. With its emission of wavelength between 465 and 495nm, EP LED also helps to activate the physiological function of the body up to 20 percent more. Moreover, the EP LED product can be tuned to different color temperatures corresponding to different situations. With high color temperature close to the natural sunlight, it could activate the bio-rhythm. On the other hand, it can improve the sense of stability with the low color temperature in the lounge or the hospital patient rooms.

LG Innotek scheduled to launch the products firstly in North America and Europe in the second half of this year, following the Japanese and Chinese markets.

"EP LED, which best represents the functionality of LED lighting, is not only beneficial to eye health, but also conducive to effective learning and improved work concentration. LG Innotek will continue to develop a new LED lighting market segment with its proprietary and state-of-the-art technologies," said, June O Song, Vice President of LG Innotek's LED Business Unit.
