General information

Strategies in Light is a business conference and exhibition on high-brightness LEDs produced by Strategies Unlimited and PennWell Corporation. Celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2009, it is both the longest-running and the largest conference in the HB LED industry. This event is the premier annual forum for presenting current commercial developments in high-brightness LED applications and providing unparalleled networking opportunities for component and equipment suppliers, manufacturers, and end-users of HB LED devices. In 2008, this event drew record attendance from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia.

The HB LED industry continues to attract worldwide participation as the market expands in all regions of the globe. Although growth has slowed from the blistering pace of 46% annually from 2001-2004, the HB LED market continues to offer outstanding growth opportunities. New suppliers as well as new application opportunities continue to emerge. Strategies in Light is the kickoff event of the year for the HB LED industry and the event to learn about the latest developments in HB LED markets, applications, products, and regional activities. This year's conference will focus on:

l         Current application trends in the HB LED industry

l         Commercial lighting applications

l         Automotive lighting, including headlamps

l         LED video screens

l         Backlights for medium and large size LCD displays

l         Aircraft lighting

l         The impact of innovative LED technologies in the marketplace

l         Marketing LED lighting in developing countries

l         Standards development for LEDs

l         LED performance updates from leading suppliers

l         White LED applications and technology trends

l         New business models for the LED supply chain

l         Market Review for the previous year and an updated five-year forecast, provided by Strategies Unlimited, the world's premier provider of LED industry-related market research The foremost experts from major LED suppliers, application developers, and supporting materials and equipment providers will present first-hand perspectives on the topics of compelling interest. Pre-conference workshops will enhance the main conference by focusing on practical issues associated with the design and implementation of LED systems.
