The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, one of the world’s most influential and comprehensive lighting industry events has already sold more than 160,000 sqm of exhibition space for its show taking place 9 – 12 June 2012 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China.
Organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, the show provides a one-stop platform offering the world’s most dynamic trading hub for the lighting industry, supported by a highly respected fringe programme of events offering market intelligence and networking opportunities.
Commenting on the amount of exhibition space sold, Mr Richard Li, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt in China said: “The response to our show has been very encouraging. With just over six months until the show, we have already sold 75 percent of the allocated space. We are well on our way to setting a new record in terms of exhibition space, with an expected 21 halls covering 220,000 sqm.“
Exhibitors who have already confirmed their space include Cree,
Delta, Everlight, GE, Nichia, Osram and Seoul Semiconductor.
Launch of new Business Matchmaking Programme
The 2012 show will also see the launch of a new Business Matchmaking Programme to help buyers quickly and efficiently source the right products and solutions, while giving exhibitors the chance to network and build relevant strategic partnerships.
The Business Matchmaking Programme will take place either at a pre-arranged meeting at the fair or via an on-site online matchmaking service.
More industry associations show keen interest in AGORA
AGORA, a successful business networking event for industry associations and visitors will be held again during the show with these associations showing a keen interest to take part: Asia Institute of Intelligent Buildings, Continental Automated Building Association, KNX Association, Macau Construction Association and Macau Institute of Engineers and the Federation of Asian Pacific Electrical Contractors Associations.
New name for LED summit
Last year’s popular inaugural Asia LED Lighting Summit (ALLS) attracted more than 1,300 attendees. The 2012 summit, which is now renamed Asia LED Summit (ALS), will feature even more seminars and events catering to the lighting industry’s diverse range of professionals, including brand leading Chief Executive Officers, Chief Marketing Officers and Chief Technical Officers who will discuss controversial industry issues and the market, providing LED professionals with insights to master the challenges ahead.

The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition is held concurrently with Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology which supports the growing trend of eco-friendly buildings with a special focus on electrical engineering and building and home automation.
The 2011 combined shows were the largest ever and attracted more than 2,931 exhibitors in 20 halls covering 210,000 sqm. Altogether there were more than 100,000 trade visitors from 116 countries and regions. Both exhibitions are part of Messe Frankfurt’s architecture and technology shows, headed by the biennial Light+Building event in Frankfurt.
