Lumidas Japan Exhibits LED Lamps Directly Powered by AC 100V

Lumidas Japan Co Ltd exhibited a number of "LumiDas" series LED lighting products developed and manufactured by Fawoo Technology Co Ltd of Korea at Eco-Products 2008 (from Dec 11 to 13, 2008, at Tokyo Big Sight in Chiba Prefecture, Japan).

Products with power inputs of 4-16W

A 52W model installed on the ceiling of the exhibition booth

70W and higher input power models

During the exhibition, Lumidas Japan demonstrated LED lamps with a round head surface (4, 8, 16, 22, 52 and 72W models) as well as square-shaped models. The company said their light-emitting efficiency is as high as 80lm/W, and their color temperature can be selected from 5300K and 3700K, which looks like the color of electric bulbs.

The LED lamps not only have a built-in power supply circuit, directly with 100V alternating current, but can also prepare models supporting AC 200V. The price is about ¥30,000 (approx US$333) for the 16W model with the round head surface.

The models with the round head surface feature an accordion metal radiator unit to expand the radiation area and increase the heat radiation efficiency of the light-emitting part, the company said.

According to Lumidas, the white LEDs used in those products are supplied by Citizen Electronics Co Ltd, LumiMicro Co Ltd and others. And the white LEDs supplied by LumiMicro use Toyoda Gosei Co Ltd's and Showa Denko KK's blue LED chips.
