Delta Electronics Inc., a world-caliber supplier of power supplies for mobile devices, has unveiled a series of LED lightings, showing its ambition to venture into the market.
Bruce Cheng, chairman of Delta, stressed that his company has won several orders for the new product line and is scheduled to start mass production and delivery in the first quarter and the second quarter, respectively. These orders have enhanced Cheng’s confidence in welcoming a promising year in 2009, despite the lingering global economic downturn.
Delta has worked out some top-caliber products, including the world’s first full-range stepless phase dimming LED lamp and solar cell-powered LED streetlight, which have been globally praised for excellent functions and power efficiency. To venture into LED lightings, Delta has effectively integrated a full supply chain from upstream production to downstream applications, and shrewdly avoided patent infringements. Besides, with its tenders accepted by Kaohsiung and Taichung City Government, the firm has turned aggressive to explore the government procurement market in Taiwan, in a bid to extend its business operation of LED lightings to the market.
Especially, the firm has zeroed in on huge demand for LED streetlights in Taiwan, as the government has planned to replace conventional streetlights for LED models, which are estimated at 4.5 million units in demand. Furthermore, the firm is expected to seize Chinese mainland business opportunity, which is even bigger and more lucrative than in Taiwan.
