Harvatek Releases New Family of High-Speed Infrared Emitters

Harvatek Corporation announces the addition of high-speed infrared (IR) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in both surface-mount and through-hole packages.

Available in top-mount, reverse-mount and side-mount configurations, the eight surface-mount IR devices released today offer impressive levels of radiant power and intensity. The surface-mount emitters are perfect for applications such as presence detection, level detection and compact remote control units where space savings or a wider angle of intensity is critical. These packages are of industry standard footprint – 0603, 0805, 1206, PLCC and TO220 – and can be easily assembled onto printed circuit boards using standard automatic placement equipment.

For applications where maximum radiation power and intensity are preferred, the eight through-hole IR lamps released today by Harvatek can meet those needs. Available in both 3mm (T-1) and 5mm (T-1¾) lenses, in both round dome or flat top configurations, the IR lamp emitters features a wide range of emission angles (at half power) ranging from 20o to 100o.  They are ideal for night vision, card readers, particle detection, wireless communications, optical counters and etc.

Both the surface-mount family and the through-hole family of IR emitters are available in both 850nm and 940nm peak wavelengths.
