Rohm Co Ltd introduced its new E26 LED light bulb prototypes at Green Device 2009 held from Oct 28 to 30 in Japan.
The LED light bulb was equipped with more than 50 LED packages, with some arranged in a double ring structure to emit light from the lateral side and the others cover the rings like a lid to emit light from the bottom side. Rohm three-dimensionally arranged LEDs so that the light of the LED bulb is diffused as widely as that of an incandescent bulb. Therefore, the new LED bulb is suited not only for downlights but also for spherical pendant lamps, According to the company.
Rohm showcased three types of prototypes, including two daylight bulbs, with color temperature of 7,000K and 5,400K respectively, and a warm white bulb with color temperature of 2,760K. The daylight bulb with a color temperature of 7,000K consumes only 7W while is as bright as a 40W incandescent lamp, said the company. And it plans to release the new product later this year.
