Evluma Clearlight 40W LED replacement lamp for NEMA Type 5 lighting applications has been approved for a Custom Project Proposal Incentive from Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). Incentives will be based on energy saved by installation of the Clearlight in lighting applications currently served by 70-150W High Pressure Sodium (HPS) and 50-175W Mercury Vapor (MV) lamps.
BPA customers may submit a Custom Project Proposal through the PTR system. General Pacific, Inc. (GenPac), Evluma's exclusive distributor throughout most of the BPA coverage area, is ready to assist utilities and municipalities in completing their rebate proposals.
“Evluma, GenPac and BPA have worked together with a number of co-ops in the BPA service area to bring this together,” said Rick Hall, CEO of GenPac. “We believe that between the incentive, energy savings and the long life of the Clearlight, the utilities will receive excellent value for their dollars spent.” While the Clearlight is a direct screw-in replacement, additional energy savings can be obtained by wiring around the ballast. GenPac plans to retrofit the NEMA Type 5 fixtures with the Evluma lamp prior to shipping, at no extra charge.
With a power factor of ≥ 0.9 and a custom designed internal LED driver taking the place of the fixture’s legacy ballast, the Clearlight uses 75% less electricity than a 175W MV lamp, says Evluma. An active cooling system keeps the thermal junction temperature low, resulting in long life and delivering an estimated L70 at 70,000 hours or longer. Its long lifetime, 3-4x longer than the MV and HPS technology it replaces, means fewer maintenance visits. The Clearlight is Mercury-free. Dark sky friendly, the lamp’s designed light cut-off reduces light pollution.
