Sharp Electronics announced the availability of its range of AQUOS Full Screen LED backlight LCD TVs for commercial use. Originally introduced to the world’s media in August this year, the ultra-low energy, affordable LE600 and LE700 televisions are expected to be popular for digital signage and multimedia applications.
The LE600 is available in 32”, 40” and 46” models with the LE700 spanning the same range with the addition of a 52” model.
Both of the new AQUOS LED models incorporate Sharp’s Full Screen LED backlight technology that illuminates the TV to extremely high brightness through hundreds of LEDs positioned directly behind the entire screen. The ultra brilliant LED design includes a unique “double-dome” light amplifier lens and multi-fluorescents, enabling high brightness and colour purity. Furthermore to maximise the LED performance Sharp has developed the AQUOS Colour Engine, a new colour management system that has been developed exclusively to accentuate rich colour tones.
These series also incorporate Sharp’s next-generation Full HD 1080p X-Gen LCD panel. The combination of cutting edge panel and white LED technology delivers mega contrast improving the perception of depth and clarity in every image.
The AQUOS LED series also bring overall value and low total cost of ownership, with several eco-friendly improvements enabled by LED technology. The UltraBrilliant, full screen LED backlight enables precise light output with higher luminance per watt so less overall power is needed – only 0.01W when in stand-by mode. In fact, this series offers 40% less power consumption than traditional LCD backlight technology.
Fine Motion Enhanced technology for 100 Hz Frame Rate Conversion, fast pixel response time of 4ms, and an extra HDMI input, plus full RS232 control for custom installations; these HD ready 1080p models boast an array of connection options, all of which are 1080p compatible, accepting signals from Blu-ray Disc players and advanced gaming devices. Additionally, Sharp’s AQUOS LINK feature allows users to seamlessly control Sharp compatible, HDMI-connected products using the TV remote control.
