Grote Industries has introduced the new SuperNova LED Hook-Up Lamp, designed to focus LED WhiteLight in areas not commonly well lit by traditional hook-up lamps. According to the company, the new lamp creates a controlled, 250-lumen beam pattern that focuses brighter, more usable LED WhiteLight through a work area.

"Hook-up lamps are often just repurposed dome lamps or stop/tail/turn lamps with as little as 32 candle power," said Mike Grote, business development manager. "Those lamps create a relatively dimly-lit work environment that can hamper vision and reduce productivity."
The lamp comes in two versions: the optimized hook-up beam pattern and a wide flood pattern that also lights the periphery of the workspace.
The 12-volt lamp, which is ideal for utility trucks, fifth wheels, forklifts and off-road vehicles, is rated for 50,000 hours of service. It emits less heat and draws lower amperage than incandescents, Grote says.
"By applying Grote's design process of first looking at the environment and then determining the right way to light it, we've developed the best optical characteristics for this lamp and for the function it will perform," said Grote. "As with all our lamp designs, we've spent time in the field conducting research for this particular lamp and have created a new lighting product that enhances visual acuity and helps vehicle operators achieve maximum productivity and performance when working behind the cab."
