It is reported that Taiwan and China vendors will test LED street lamps in Xiamen, Fujian Province and Guangzhou, by cross-strait standards for LED street lighting.
Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) will assist to choose test sites, and two test sites have chosen, including Xiamen's Huoju Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and line one of Guangzhou's Metro subway system.
In Xiamen, the project will involve to about 1,000 LED street lamps and continue until in May-June of 2011.And in Guangzhou, the project will fix 10,000-20,000 indoor LED lamps on subway stations along the Metro line and go on until in 2Q of 2011.
Some Taiwan companies, involved Epistar, Everlight, Bright, Lite-On, Leotek, AU Optronics, Lextar, Delta and China's Xiamen Sanan Optoelectronics and Hangzhou Silan Microelectronics, will participate in this project.
It is estimated that the whole LED chips would be benefit from LED companies in Taiwan and China.
