At SFT Lighting’s “Intelligent Control LED light source” press conference held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) on November 9, 2010, SFT Lighting and CREE officially signed the first order of high power LED chips in the amount of RMB 100 million (~USD 15 million, at 1 USD = 6.64 CNY).

During the press conference, a strategic alliance is formed between SFT Lighting, a well-recognized lighting manufacturer, and CREE, the world's leading LED chip maker as the two companies signed the strategic cooperation agreement. Both enterprises will carry out more extensive cooperation in the technical support of chip supply. 

At the signing ceremony, Jie Shi, President of SFT Lighting, and Guoqing Tang, Business Development General Manager, CREE PRC, both expressed upon signing the agreement that they hope to foster closer and more extensive bilateral cooperation in order to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient LED light source and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

With numerous benefits of LED lighting, including energy efficiency, safety, and sustainable industrial development, LED lighting technology has been gaining attention worldwide.
