The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, Asia’s largest and most comprehensive lighting event will be held 9 –12 June 2010 at the China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, China.

Organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, next year’s show will celebrate its 15th anniversary, having firmly established itself as the preferred sourcing destination for thousands of architects, building planners, lighting retailers and wholesalers from around the world.

“The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition is much more than a trading hub,” explains Mr Jason Cao, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt in China. “It’s the meeting place for the world’s lighting industry.  Key players in the global lighting industry are attracted to visit the show by the vast range of lighting products, technology and services ever assembled in an Asian destination, together with our highly respected fringe programme. It is the one place in the world where visitors and exhibitors can gain an overview of what’s happening in both the Asian and global lighting industries.”

Despite the global economic slowdown, the 2009 show attracted a record-breaking 52,795 visitors from 111 countries who came to view 1,543 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions in 11 halls totalling 110,000 square metres of exhibition space.

As in previous years, the 2010 show will continue to enjoy strong support from international and local industry associations such as the China Association of Lighting Industry, China Illuminating Engineering Society, International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Lighting Urban Community International Association (LUCI).  Supporting the show for the first time is the Federation of Asian and Pacific Electrical Contractors Associations which consists of 14 organisations in the Asia Pacific region.

Extension of product concept halls for sourcing effectiveness
Building on the success of product based halls, this concept has been now expanded to include halls for brand names; technical lighting; LED technology; decorative lighting; accessories and electronic components.  In addition, the exhibitor profile has been simplified making it easier for companies to know which category to exhibit in.  The 2010 categories are:
•    Technical lighting
•    Decorative lighting
•    LED technology
•    Professional lights
•    Electric lights
•    Accessories and electronic components
•    Light control, management and measurement systems
•    Light production and measurement equipment
