In recent times, China has witnessed rapid growth in its novel light and energy sources lighting industry. Attendees to a press conference held on January 21 for Green Lighting China Expo and Forum 2010 heard that with new improvements and innovations continuing to emerge from the industry, novel light and energy sources lighting are expected to replace traditional light sources in the lighting industry, creating both great opportunities and great challenges for lighting manufacturers.
This year will see the debut of the Green Lighting China Expo and Forum. Rather than purely being a forum, the event will be an expo jointly sponsored by the China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA) and Reed Exhibitions. To capitalize on the opportunities that the novel light and energy sources lighting industry is facing, there is a need for an authoritative industry platform specialized enough to promote in-depth interaction and communication about innovative technologies amongst potential customers, partners and government officials, said Josephine Lee, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions, East China. Reed Exhibitions, the world’s leading organizer of trade shows, together with the China Solid State Lighting Alliance, is setting the stage for the full industry supply chain from upstream to downstream of novel light and energy sources lighting technologies and equipment. Through the show, Reed aims to provide a channel through which local and international buyers can explore the resources of the local industry. Green Lighting China 2010 is targeting visitors from government departments (municipal construction, environmental protection, highway construction and municipal divisions); real estate developers and engineering projects; consumer electronics manufacturers (TVs, computers and phones) and other applications manufacturers, to create a comprehensive, high end industry show for both exhibitors and visitors.
The development of novel light and energy sources lighting will remain a dominant trend in the future. The launch of a semiconductor lighting application project - “Ten Cities, Ten Thousand Lights” - in 2009 was followed by a nationwide drive lead by the Ministry of Science and Technology. As well as being one of the first 21 pilot cities for this project, alongside Hangzhou, Yangzhou, Ningbo and Wuhan, among others, Shanghai is also the location of Expo 2010 Shanghai, an event which will create great business opportunities for companies from the novel light and energy sources lighting industry. This sector will experience explosive growth in the Yangtze River Delta Area and across the country. The next round of revolutionary technological and industrial development is bound to stimulate widespread demand for information about the market for green lighting, as well as its technologies and talent. How to increase market share and develop opportunities will be a core focus during the event. A symposium titled The Application of Novel Energy Lighting will focus on solar PV lighting, photovoltaic-wind hybrid lighting and electric supply hybrid lighting. It will look specifically at how to combine these applications with new energies. At the same time, there will also be symposiums titled:
- The Development of Green Lighting;
- The Revolution of Novel Light Sources and Transportation Lighting;
- Professional Lighting Design
- Smart Control System Solutions
With its keen focus on the local novel light and energy sources lighting industry, Green Lighting China 2010 is drawing great support from many well known organizations, institutions and corporations, both locally and internationally. Renowned companies like Philips, OSRAM, Veeco, ASTRI and Shanghai Sansi have given great attention at this event. The show, to be held in conjunction with NEPCON China, the leading electronics manufacturing and SMT event in Asia, will focus mainly on displaying green lighting innovations (solid light sources; gas light sources and thermal radiation light sources); lighting appliances; novel energy lighting systems and novel light source displays.
Step into a bright future and win new markets by embracing new innovations. Neither novel energies nor lights will ever be redundant. The combined importance of new lights and energies is set to grow and grow.
