Panasonic's new LED base light has a total efficiency of 104.6lm/W

Panasonic Electric Works Co Ltd designed a total efficiency of 104.6lm/W (6,800lm, 65W) LED base light for office use.

Compared to the company's LED base light released in fiscal 2009, the new Light’s total efficiency is about 52% higher. The LED base light that it released in fiscal 2009 has a total efficiency of 68.8lm/W, lower than the 85.3lm/W of its base light using two 32W HF fluorescent lamps.

This new LED base light can achieve an illuminance as high as that of the base light using two 32W HF fluorescent lamps and an efficiency as high as 104.6lm/W while reducing glare.

In addition, the power consumption per unit illuminance of the new LED base light is about 25% lower than that of the base light using two 32W HF fluorescent lamps and about 37% lower than the LED base light released in fiscal 2009.

Two types is available ,one is directly attached to a ceiling, and the other is embedded in a ceiling. Both of the two types use 150 daylight-color LEDs. The life of the light source is 40,000 hours.

Panasonic Electric Works will release the LED base light Aug 1, 2010, in Japan, aiming to sell 5,000 units in fiscal 2010.
