Arima Optoelectronics had got the first segment of patent licensing charge from its Chinese joint venture in Shanxi. The total licensing charge was CNY270 million and the joint venture would pay the full amount in five years with the first installment of CNY120 million (US$15.45 million) and CNY102 million after tax.
The Chinese joint venture mainly manufacture LED epitaxy with being established in December 28, 2009 and an initial paid-in capital of CNY300 million. The first installment would be used for investing for a 40% stake in the joint venture.
Recently, the Chinese company had set up a production plant and moved in 15 MOCVD sets with another 15 sets scheduled for 2011.Also, the joint-venture was expected to invest US$30 million in another facility in Jiangsu Province, which would have 150 MOCVD sets.
