International Green Systems’ LEDs Help Mi Tierra’s Restaurant Go Green

International Green Systems (IGS) has signed a contract with Mi Tierra to replace more than 100,000 bulbs and lamps at the downtown Market Square restaurant with LED bulbs.

Mi Tierra’s owners expect to cut electricity use by more than 5.4 million kilowatt hours and reduce greenhouse gases by the equivalent of 123 vehicles.

Mi Tierra is making use of CPS Energy’s Commercial Lighting Rebate program. With rebates, CPS Energy will cover about 60 percent of the cost of the new lighting.

Mi Tierra will unveil the new lighting on Nov. 15 at a special event benefiting St. P.J.’s Children’s Home. IGS will donate more than $5,000 worth of LED Christmas Lights to decorate the campus. Dallas-based IGS distributes and installs energy-efficient lighting products.
