Taiwan LED Manufacturers Acquires Increasing Orders for Japan Post-quake Reconstruction

Due to the Japan post-quake reconstruction, Japanese LED-lighting suppliers have increased orders from Taiwan`s manufacturers.

According to Unity Opto Technology Chairman C.H. Wu , the company`s Japanese customers have recently notified it of preparing LED light bulbs for them, which will make the company`s bulb shipments to increase in late April and May. it’s estimated that Japan`s increased orders will boost the company`s sales for the second quarter by 30% from the first quarter. And Delta Electronics is also supplying contract products to Hitachi.

Taiwan`s LED chip industry also benefit from the increasing orders. Executives of Epistar noted that the company`s shipments will increase starting April and estimated Toyoda Gosei would ramp up its outsourcing contracts to keep up with tight demands at home.

Other Japanese suppliers, such as Ligitek Electronics Co., Ltd. and Leditech Electronics Co., Ltd., are likely to see surged contracts from Japan.
