KU Environs Plans to Install LED Lighting

Reportedly, KU Environs is proposing the installation of LED lights throughout campus to make campus lighting energy efficient.

At present, the group has installed a set of LED lights as a demonstration on West Campus.

According to Nick Benson, vice president of KU Environs, the demonstration lights were installed at the beginning of April. The group plans to survey University students and faculty, in an effort to determine if installing the LED lights on the main Lawrence campus would be effective. It’s said that Cooper Lighting donated the lights for 90 days.
