California Company Utilizes Recycled E-Waste to Design LED Desk Lamp

California-based LittleFootprint Lighting recently has made use of plastic recycled from e-waste and sporting high efficiency LED bulb to design a new LED desk lamp HeronLED.

This new lamp features an adjustable, ergonomic design, “warm white” light, and a replaceable LED bulb. And it uses 7-10 times less energy than the conventional desktop lamp. In addition,it’s made from recycled plastic and steel, which makes it easy to recycle when this product finally does bite the dust.

While this lovely, bird-like lamp is at the price of $195.00, certainly doesn’t come cheap. LittleFootprint is quick to point out that because the LED bulb here uses a fraction of the energy of an incandescent or even CFL bulb, you’ll see immediately savings on your electricity bill – and over the product’s 17+ year lifespan, those savings will add up.
