Yesterday, JEshine New Material Co., Ltd. convened a press conference for China’s first over-100kg sapphire crystal with the attendance of Wang Lubao, Chairman of JEshine , Jeff Ford, Senior Deputy President of GTsolar, Peter Pauli, CEO of Meyer Burger, relevant governmental officials and news media. Reporter of LEDinside was also invited to the so called “Beautiful Sun Island” – Yangzhong, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, for a live report.

Over-100kg sapphire crystal debuts

With the pushing up of the draw bar and the shining blue lights, a 101.35kg, transparent, column-shaped sapphire crystal formally debuted in Yangzhong, Jiangsu, which aroused thunderous applause.

JEshine introduced that this was not only the largest sapphire crystal which could be produced with Chinese artificial sapphire technology, but also the heaviest. The birth of the over-100kg sapphire crystal ofJEshine is a quantum jump from the bottleneck of LED industrial chain.

JEshine indicated that the debut of the sapphire crystal suggested the company could provide excellent materials for the fast-growing LED industry, also that China’s sapphire crystal growth was breaking the passive situation that basilar manufacturing market depends on import for a long time, playing an important role in perfecting LED industrial chain.

The over-100kg high-quality sapphire crystal is developed jointly by technical team of JEshine and experts from America, Switzerland, etc. with the unique growth technology of “In-situ growth and in-situ annealing”. The technology has solved many difficulties such as instable growth quality, small specification, etc. The success of the trail production of the fist stove makes it possible of the scaled production and size upgrading of sapphire crystal in the future. The two foreign companies also made speeches at the press conference and expressed their good vision.

After that, the reporter of LEDinside and other guests visited the sister company ofJEshine such as Jiangsu Meike Silicon Energy Co., Ltd., HuanTai Silicon Science & Technology Co., Ltd., Gaozhao Solar Technology Co., Ltd., etc., as well as the underway plant of JEshine. It is expected that the underway project of JEshine  will take the shape of annual output of sapphire crystal basilar being five million pieces after putting into production in August of this year and achieve the annual turnover of over RMB 1.2 billion Yuan.

Mr. Wang Lubao, founder of JEshine  is the forerunner of China’s silicon slice industry.  At the end of 2010, Mr. Wang Lubao decided to found JEshine to strive to develop energy-saving photoelectricity industry when developing photovoltaic products. The company specializes in developing sapphire crystal and basilar manufacturing. The project covers an overall area of 680mu, and will achieve the annual turnover reaching RMB four billion Yuan after putting into production. The overall project consists of four phases, and the underway engineering is the phase I project. Soon afterward, the company will gradually kick off the other three phases and finally achieve the production scale of 20 million pieces per year. The overall four phrases investment plan is expected to be completed in three years.
