POSCO LED Expands its Oversea LED Market

POSCO LED is reported to step into Japanese LED market with its first overseas orders from Pohang on July 21.

Jointly promoted by the sales and marketing teams at POSCO LED and Daewoo International,the shipment marks the first achievement to be made based on collaboration within the POSCO group.

The LED plant in Pohang completed in March this year has the capacity to produce lighting products of 5 million units annually. Its houses state-of-the-art manufacturing systems to produce a broad range of products, including industrial LED lighting and indoor LED retrofit products, as well as automated quality assurance facilities.

Besides,POSCO LED is also actively expanding its penetration in the European market. It recently exported industrial lighting sample products at a major aluminum plant in Europe, with plans to expand supply targets to cover the entire plant.

In June, it won an orders to replace all the lighting at a new plant at POSHIMETAL, a producer of high purity ferro manganes.

Pohang Steel Works recently installed new LED lighting at examination facilities of the second hot rolled sheet manufacturing operations.
