Foshan Lighting Wins the Bid for LED Lamps on 2012 Solid-State Lighting Product Subsidy

Chinese government has completed the bidding process for the 2012 Solid-State Lighting Product Subsidy. And Foshan Electrical and Lighting Co., Ltd. (Foshan Lighting) has announced to win the bid for 400,000 units LED lamps.

According to the company, the winning products including LED downlight (4 inches / 12 w) and LED light (PAR30/8 w, PAR 38/12 w). These LED lighting products are only sold in mainland China, but the areas for popularization are not limited. And in the promotion of sales within the quota of the products, the company has the right to enjoy relevant subsidies.

Some statistical data has shown that, there are 39 enterprises winning the bid in total, including Yankon Lighting, Foshan Lighting and any other listed companies. The number of LED lighting for winning the bid is 8.73 million in total.

Early in February, the ministry of finance issued the 2012 Solid-State Lighting Product Subsidy Project. On May 16, the state council also released a subsidy program worth 2.2 billion yuan ($346 million) to promote the use of energy-saving lamps and LED lighting.

Also in May, Guangdong firstly put forward to promote of LED public lighting within 3 years, of which reconstruction project for only 2 million LED streetlightings reached 4.89 billion yuan.
