2012 IES Progress Report Selects Lighting Science Products for Lamp Innovation

DEFINITY(TM) MR16 High-Output and DEFINITY(TM) BR20 LED Lamps Among Selected

Lighting Science Group Corporation (OTCBB: LSCG)
, one of the world's leading LED lighting technology companies, announced today that its DEFINITY™ MR16 high-output LED lamp and the DEFINITY™ BR20 LED lamp has been recognized by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Progress Committee as providing advancements in the art and science of lighting. The accepted products will be part of the 2012 IES Progress Report, which presents significant developments in the lighting industry over the past year.

DEFINITY™ products are leading edge LED replacement lamps that deliver performance and affordability. The performance breakthroughs achieved with this advanced lamp line are a direct result of an LED system design approach encompassing efficient power supplies, unique thermal solutions, top-tier LED technology, leading edge optical control solutions and rigid binning techniques that result in visually pleasing light sources that seamlessly transition into retrofit applications.

The Progress Report submittals, which consist of new products, applications, research, design tools, and publications, are reviewed by the IES Progress Committee, who is responsible for monitoring developments in the art and science of lighting worldwide in order to prepare a yearly review of achievements for the Society. The committee is made up of lighting industry professionals who possess expertise in varied areas within the field. Each submittal goes through a comprehensive judging process and is evaluated for uniqueness, innovation, and significance to the lighting industry -- with a focus on honors and technical advancements rather than aesthetics.

The accepted products will be promoted extensively by the IESNA. In addition, a summary of the Report will be published in the January 2013 issue of Lighting Design + Application (LD+A), the Society's monthly magazine. The Report will also be posted on the IES website and presented at local IES Section meetings throughout the year. "We are honored by the inclusion in this year's IES Progress Report," said Keith Scott, chief commercial officer of Lighting Science. "We believe that our LED lamps are a significant advancement in the science of light and key to a more efficient, sustainable and brighter future."
