UL Named as Zhaga Authorized Testing Center for LED Lighting Testing

UL (Underwriters Laboratories) has been named a Zhaga authorized testing center, to expand LED Lighting testing capability.

Coupled with UL's LTL, Europe, and Nansha, this credential, positions UL as one of the most comprehensive LED testing organizations in the world.

This new testing service offering will be available separately or as a bundle with other UL lighting industry services such as Energy Star, performance testing and safety certification.

Zhaga is an industry-wide cooperation aimed at the development of standard specifications for the interfaces of LED light engines. The organization creates interface specifications for 'light engines' with the goal to promote interchangeability of light engines made by different manufacturers; different lighting applications need different light engines.

Interchangeability is achieved by defining interfaces for a variety of application-specific light engines. Zhaga standards cover the physical dimensions, as well as the photometric, electrical and thermal behavior of LED light engines.
