Chinese Domestic Brands to Achieve 80 % Share in LED Chip

As early in May, Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, has issued the semiconductor lighting technology development- the 12th Five-Year Development Plan(draft), proposing that by the year of 2015, the LED lighting industry scale will soar to 500 billion yuan, and LED lighting products will account for 30% of the general lighting; it will specially focus on cultivating 20-30 domestic leading enterprises ,building 20 national industry bases as well as adding 50 cities to “Ten Thousand LED Lights in Ten Cities” program.

At the same time, the above "planning" also pointed out that 80% of chip manufacture will adopt the domestic brands, and the lighting effect will be improved while the cost to fall to 1/5.

If the plan takes effect, Chinese LED industry will embrace a new era in the near future.
