Peter van Strijp, LED lighting veteran, takes the helm at planar LED lighting pioneer Oree

New CEO will lead Oree to commercial success by bringing its LightCell technology to the general lighting market

Oree announced that LED lighting veteran Peter van Strijp has been named as the company’s new CEO. Mr. van Strijp has served as Oree's Chairman of the Board. This move comes as Oree’s focus shifts into aggressive sales, while building new channels and acquiring new high-profile accounts. The company is increasing its emphasis on the general lighting market for its LightCell™ technology, with an emphasis on Europe and Asia.

Eran Fine, Founder, President and CEO of Oree for the last five years, will step down from his positions. Mr. Fine will continue to serve as a member of Oree’s Board of Directors, and will continue to play an active role in setting strategic direction for the company.

Mr. van Strijp is a former Exec Vice President at Philips Lighting, where he held senior management positions like CEO of the global Lighting Electronics business and later on he became the CEO of Philips Solid State Lighting business group as well as a board member at Lumileds.

“Eran is a visionary and a true technology innovator in the LED industry, and Oree has gotten to where it is today because of his unwavering commitment to Oree’s LightCell technology,” said Peter van Strijp. “I am confident that Oree’s new focus on general lighting in Europe and Asia will lead the company to its next stage of growth, which is all about sales and establishing partner channels.”

“As Oree moves from innovation and strategy into aggressive sales and channel-building, it’s time for different talents to assume management roles,” said Eran Fine. “I am committed to the success of this company, and to the LED lighting sector as a whole, and intend to continue serving as an avid speaker and industry expert when I am afforded the opportunities.”
