SWITCH Lighting(TM) is offering liquid-cooled LED A-lamps to the hospitality industry and has received great feedback on their light quality--which matches the warm, room filling glow, and dimmability of an incandescent, with no drawbacks like the warm-up time and hazardous ingredients associated with CFLs.
The full line includes 40, 60, 75, and 100 watt-equivalents, with the latest addition of the first-ever 3-Way LED lamp. Named SWITCH3-Way, it's a 25/50/75 watt-equivalent LED replacement A-Lamp. The full line is also on display for the hospitality industry at HD Expo in Las Vegas from May 15-17.
According to the company, the first SWITCH lamps were shipped to several hotel beta-sites in the United States last November. The lamps last 25,000 hours and use 80% less energy than a standard incandescent lamp which could save hospitality properties thousands in energy and maintenance replacement costs.
In addition, SWITCH is also introducing technology for a 220/240V driver. This will expand the full line of LED A-Lamps beyond U.S. borders to the international market. The 220/240V driver lamps are expected to be released in late 2012.
The SWITCH40, SWITCH60, SWITCH75 are shipping to limited commercial outlets next month; while the SWITCH100 and the SWITCH3-Way are shipping in August. SWITCH will be announcing the locations of those commercial distributors by July. These initial lamps will likely be priced between $40-60 from distribution, depending on the model.
