LED specialist Light Planet has announced a deal that will see them become the sole UK distributor for a multi-functional range of LED fittings manufactured by Lumi-Harvest Industries (LUMIX)
Building on 20 years experience of manufacturing and selling conventional lighting, Lumix has developed a reputation for producing quality LED replacements for the inefficient and unpopular fluorescent fixtures that are common in many commercial buildings.
Priced to be competitive with standard light fittings, the Lumix range offers end users and contractors a genuine choice between fluorescents and LEDs. Providing comparable light levels for up to 50% lower power consumption, these long-life LED fittings minimise replacement and maintenance costs.
“As a competitive alternative to traditional fluorescents, the Lumix LED range will be particularly useful in continuing our work in office, retail, school and hospital applications where they will deliver not only an affordable means of reducing energy consumption but improved quality of light and a more comfortable environment”, commented Light Planet Managing Director, Simon Leggett.
Lumix has developed a smart range of multi-functional LED lights with each product offering either basic, motion sensor, emergency pack, or emergency pack with sensor options. The motion sensor options include an adjustable detection range, adjustable trigger level and the ability to dim to 0 or 20% illumination when no one is present. In addition, the units can be interlinked which allows a group of lights to be triggered by one unit with a sensor. This is particularly useful for corridors and stairwells where illumination of the space is only required when occupied.
“This is the first time we have identified a supplier that offers a full family of lights with similar multi-functionality”, explained Managing Director, Simon Leggett. “Lumix represent the kind of dynamic, innovative and creative company that Light Planet are proud to develop relationships with”.
The Lumix range of products is targeted directly at the fluorescent replacement market and features 2D replacement bulkheads for internal, external and architectural environments; 1 and 2 tube replacement for the vapour proof, IP65 T8 fluorescents which are ideal for car parks; and a low bay linear fitting that compares to T5 for around 50% of the energy consumption.
