The Luxifer LED bulb, which is featured at the exhibition’s “Light for Tomorrow” section, was chosen for its groundbreaking material, technology, and innovation. The light uses dual-plastic injection molding method to form a one-piece molded plastic bulb. It also incorporates partial electroplating technology on the surface of the lamp, a radical change from traditional bulb materials. The technology and production process covers energy saving, environmental friendly, low energy consumption, low costs, and high energy efficiency returns. The simplified bulb manufacturing process results in low costs, environmental friendly and aesthetic bulbs. The luminaire was winner of the 2011 German Reddot Design Award.
