LG G Flex Curved Smartphone Hot on Samsung’s Heels

Not wanting to be left in the dust, in the wake of by Samsung’s curved smartphone Galaxy Round announcing the first ever curved smartphone, the Galaxy Round, LG confirmed their own curved smartphone is in the works, according to reports by the Verge, Engadget and CNET.

The G Flex is expected to be released this November, but price and hard specs are still largely unavailable. It has been confirmed that the display used is similar to the recently revealed 6 inch OLED panel.

What stands the G Flex apart from the Galaxy Round is the angle of the curved display. While the Galaxy Round is angled from left to right, the G Flex is designed to cup the face comfortably with a curve from top to bottom.

With Samsung and LG both releasing curved smartphones this year, it is clear that the future of smartphone design from the usual rectangular shape is evolving.
