Panasonic Eco Solutions will make all efforts to develop its residential lighting business in Asia. Panasonic starts the sales of residential LED lamps in the Vietnamese market from June 2013 at first, and then it will expand its sales in Indonesia, India, Taiwan and Hong Kong and other regions in turns, and it will add LED product lines in Chinese mainland market where the ceiling lamp is available to fully expand its business.
Panasonic takes the approach that the appearance of lamps must meet the regional and national market preferences, and devices are universal and centrally produced to improve cost competitiveness. However, the LED assembly and power mass-produced for the Japanese market with surge in demand for LED will be customized for other regions of Asia.
With the rapid economic development, electricity supply in Vietnam and other emerging markets is tight and energy requirements is getting higher, Panasonic has rapidly introduced LED lighting these countries. Panasonic said that it also hopes to contribute to improve the power situation through the introduction of high-quality LED lights developed in Japan to the emerging markets, in addition to providing a wealth of lighting space.
It is reported that Panasonic intends to set up shop and showroom in Vietnam, Indonesia and India to contact with customers, but also it prepares to cultivate lighting consultants.
Panasonic achieved about 30 billion yen from its residential lighting fixtures in 2012 from the overseas markets, mainly from Chinese market. Panasonic is expected to enhance its sales more than 2 times of that in 2012 by 2015 through the business expansion to the Asian market.
