Lighting Science Receives GSA "Multiple Award Schedule" Vendor Status

Lighting Science Group Corporation®, one of the world's leading LED lighting technology companies, announced today it has received GSA Multiple Award Schedule vendor status. The GSA Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) program enables Lighting Science to establish long-term government contracts for its leading LED lighting solutions. Lighting Science will offer its innovative LED lamps as well as its industry-leading LED lighting fixtures through the GSA Advantage website.

The GSA Schedules program is the premier acquisition vehicle in government, with approximately $50 billion a year in spending or 10 percent of overall federal procurement spending. GSA Schedules are fast, easy, and effective contracting vehicles for both customers and vendors. For GSA Schedules, GSA establishes long-term, government-wide contracts with commercial companies to provide access to millions of commercial products and services at volume discount pricing.

Lighting Science designs, engineers and manufactures innovative LED lighting with a holistic approach to R&D, turning ideas into intelligent LED lighting solutions faster, better and more successfully than the competition. The Lighting Science offering consists of both "Made in USA" and NAFTA compliant products. In addition, the Definity™ brand Energy Star approved replacement lamps qualify as GSA Green Products.

"By receiving GSA Multiple Award Schedule vendor status, we will be able to provide our industry leading and environmentally superior solutions to a wide variety of government facilities and locations," said Jeremy Cage, CEO. "We are excited to offer the depth and breadth of our line of LED products to the workers and patrons at federal facilities nationwide helping them to comply with federal mandates on energy efficiency, while improving the lighting in their workplace."

GSA is always looking to update the offerings under the GSA Schedules program and aid vendors in being successful in the government marketplace. Particularly, the GSA Schedules program has a strong record of small business achievement. In Fiscal Year 2011, 35 percent, or approximately $13 billion in prime contracting, went to small business. As a small business, Lighting Science is excited for the opportunity to participate in this program.
