Dialight Introduces New Line of LED Aviation Warning Lights

Dialight, a global LED manufacturer that specializes in transportation, infrastructure, industrial, and hazardous areas, announced a new line of Vigilant® aircraft obstruction LED lighting that offers a number of advancements on their already superior obstruction product line. With FAA certification for all tower and aircraft obstruction heights, the new Vigilant obstruction lighting line provides lower power consumption, smaller size, less wind load and lighter weight.

The new Vigilant line offers the L-864/L-865 dual medium intensity red/white strobe in the same small and light weight housing as the L-864, which results in a 5-pound weight reduction. This generation of LED obstruction lighting also adds the red L-864 beacon that is 25% smaller and 22 lbs. lighter than the previously white-only version. Dialight’s Vigilant beacons and strobes are the first product line to be fully tested and verified by Intertek ETL to the 2012 Transport Canada CAR 621 specification.

“Dialight leads the LED obstruction lighting market with superior technology and innovation that is shaping the future of aviation navigation,” said Roy Burton, Dialight Group Chief Executive. “These latest additions allow Dialight to offer the most complete line of LED obstruction lights in the market today.”

With the use of diamond-cut tooling and Dialight’s renowned proprietary and patented reflector-based optics, the new L-864 and L-864/L-865 obstruction lights provide an absolute razor sharp light cutoff that essentially eliminates light pollution. For example, the FAA requires that light at 10 degrees below the horizon must not be greater than 3% of the peak intensity. While many manufacturers struggle with this requirement, Dialight’s strobes are about six times better than this limit.

Ruggedized for harsh conditions, the L-856 High Intensity Strobe is designed for operation in ambient temperature range of -40C to +55C and is highly resistant to lightning, vibration and shock. With even more robust integrated lightning protection, the L-864/L-856 can sustain multiple direct hits and is proven to be the toughest obstruction light on the market.

The Vigilant obstruction lighting systems can be used with Dialight’s sophisticated controller capable of remote monitoring that allows for detailed diagnostics and health checks via the Dialight Gateway or other 3rd party Gateways to your NOC. The controller is SNMP enabled and compatible with third-party controllers via GSM, CDMA, Wi-Fi and more

Dialight continues to be the first to market with LED obstruction lighting systems, including the first FAA approved device in 1999. Dialight’s patented LED lighting systems changed the way obstructions are marked for aircraft pilots in telecom, wind, broadcast, utility and marine applications.
