Lextar Sees Dip in February Revenue

Feb. 2014 revenue for Taiwanese LED manufacturer Lextar reached NT $880 million, a 6.4 percent increase from the same period last year but a 27.7 percent drop from January. Combined revenue for January and February was NT $2.1 billion (US $69.4 million), increase of 18 percent from last year.
Fewer working days in February and backlight preorders in January lead to a drop in February revenue, said Lextar. New products will continue to increase in 2Q as OEM clients swap out old products with new models.

Direct-type backlight models already make up over half of Lextar’s backlight products, showing good shipment volume this year. In addition, large numbers of 4K2K high definition models are being shipped to China. Shipment of LEDs for use in 50 inch TV applications to the North American market have gradually increased. Also, 5050 LED for high powered lighting applications have recently begun shipments to European clients.
