Philips Lumiblade to Reveal OLED Space Applications

As OLED manufacturers explore potential application fields including commercial, retail and beauty industry, Philips Lumiblade has moved away from “Earthly” applications to a whole new frontier: outer space.

The company released a teaser video on their Facebook account recently hinting a latest OLED product will be taking a trip on the space shuttle, and go “where no other OLED has ever been”.

The company promised to release more information on March 16, 2014. Until then LEDinside editorial team can only speculate that the OLED application will probably be for the shuttle’s interior lighting, and be very robust to withstand the rough ride and extreme environment on a space shuttle.
