OSRAM Named Official Lighting Partner of Eurovision 2016

OSRAM was announced as the Official Lighting Partner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest said, “The Eurovision Song Contest is a unique event in the television year with some of the highest production values in broadcasting. I am delighted that our cooperation with OSRAM will continue into 2016”.

“Light is emotion. And as emotion is the main connotation when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest, we are very pleased to be once more partner of this unique entertainment event”, said Hans-Joachim Schwabe, CEO of Osram’s Business Unit Specialty Lighting.

As the Official Lighting Partner of the Eurovision Song Contest, OSRAM has been granted extensive global association, event, media and new media rights for the upcoming events in Sweden.

Besides several lighting projects around the Eurovision Song Contest events in Stockholm, Osram will again present Lightify, an innovative LED lighting system controlled via a smartphone app, in the context of the event.

After the great success of the Lightify “voting” at the Eurovision Village in Vienna this May, visitors will again be able to use a specific app to cast their "votes" and show support for a song during the public screening of the live shows via an instant “light voting”. More exciting details about how this activity will be implemented in Stockholm will be communicated at a later stage, so stay tuned!

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place on the 10th, 12th and 14th of May at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
