The city mayor Sanjay Chauhan recent comments suggest the lights will be replaced once a meeting with finance contract and personal matters committee is settled.

About 2,000 of the new LED streetlights will be warm white LED lights, and will be installed in fog prone areas to improve road visibility during foggy weather, said Shimla MC executive engineer Sudheer Gupta.
