Global Technology Companies Achieving Their Sustainable Goals

Many leading companies in across the world have proactively dedicated to setting up and achieving sustainable goals with the awareness of climate change and other environmental issues. Signify recently announced that it has achieved carbon neutrality in five more market; while AIXTRON reported its certification as a climate neutral company. Osram, also unveiled its intension to become climate neutral by 2030.

Signify has achieved carbon neutrality in the market of ASEAN, Far East, India, Indonesia and Pacific, boosting its number of markets with carbon-neutral operations to 15 out of 19. This brings Signify a big step closer towards achieving 100% carbon-neutral operations in 2020. According to Signify, the five markets have reduced their overall carbon emissions by 19% in 2019. The company offsets its remaining emissions through contributions to projects that have a positive environmental and social impact, including small- to medium-sized wind farms in India and a hydro plant in Vietnam that operates without using a dam.

To further reduce CO2 emissions, the company has since this year also used renewable energy sources to generate all of its electricity. On the other hand, AIXTRON offsets unavoidable CO2 emissions from business travel, company vehicles, and building heating by supporting certified climate protection projects in South America and Africa.
