3D Sensing Equipment Provider CyberOptics Receives New Orders for Micro LED Inspection and Metrology Systems

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the progress of Micro LED technology continues to go on. After AIXTRON reported that it has received orders from the Konka Group for Micro LED pilot production, another equipment supplier, CyperOptics, who specialized in high precision 3D sensing technology, also announced orders for Micro LED production.

Based in Minnesota, USA, CyberOptics develops and manufactures 3D sensing technology solutions for inspection and metrology in the SMT and semiconductor markets to improve yields and productivity.

The company reported that it has received orders value at approximately US$1.2 million for its Multi-Reflection Suppression™ (MRS™) enabled SQ3000™ Multi-Function systems for Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and Coordinate Measurements (CMM). The systems will be used in the scale up for production of Micro LED-based technology. The order are expected to become revenue in the second quarter of 2020.

CyberOptics also anticipates that it will receive additional orders for its SQ3000 Multi-Function systems for inspection and metrology related to Micro LED technology as 2020 progresses.
