Micro LED based Smart Lens Maker Mojo Vision Raises Additional $51 Million

Mojo Vision, the Invisible Computing company who is developing smart contact lens with Micro LED technology, announced by the end of April its additional funding raised in Series B-1 investment round. The found will be used to gear up the development of Mojo Lens, the smart contact lens to realize AR applications.

Mojo Vision has raised US$51 million in the B-1 round, bringing the total funding to date to more than US$159 million. The latest round of funding was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) with participation from top strategic investors and venture firms, including Gradient Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Liberty Global Ventures, Struck Capital, Dolby Family Ventures, Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, Fusion Fund, Intellectus Partners, KDDI Open Innovation Fund, Numbase Group, InFocus Capital Partners, and others.

The company claimed that it is developing the world first smart contact lens in January 2020. The so-called Mojo Lens a contact lens incorporating Micro LED display to offer user timely information without the need look down at a screen or lose focus on the people and the world around them.

Mojo aims to provide the application to help people who live with vision impairment as a visual aid and is actively working with the U.S. FDA through its Breakthrough Devices Program, which is a voluntary program designed to provide safe and timely access to medical devices that can help treat irreversibly debilitating diseases or conditions.

The technology is still in the R&D process at the moment.
