In Da An Art Gallery in Zhongshan, China, the traditional spotlights have been replaced with LEDs for lighting of the exhibits. Comparing with the traditional halogen and fluorescent lamps, the LED spotlights emit no ultraviolet radiation and require no filters to protect the pictures.
The Z-Power LED P4 series from Seoul Semiconductor were installed in place of the 50W halogen lamps, which could save up to 85% power, according to the comany. The Z-Power LEDs used in the gallery spotlights has the colouring rending index of 93 indicating high level of natural expression of light colours, and high efficiency, which is optimal for lighting of museums and galleries.
Da An Art Gallery contains the works of Jun Tien Lee, a famous calligrapher and sculptor in Zhongshan city. And the gallery is replacing the halogen lamps and fluorescent lamps with LEDs in a eco-initiative.
