South Korea is seeking the investment opportunities with Brunei Darussalam on the fields of Smart Grid and LED technology.
A South Korean investment mission led by the Asean-Korea Centre and comprising 16 Korean company representatives and related experts have presented a meeting with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB).
According to the Director of ASEAN-Korea Centre, Mr Cho Jae-Hyun, as a part of their investment promotion programmes, their Asean-Korea Centre regularly dispatches investment missions to Asean countries.
"This investment mission is focusing on the SMART Grid and LED technologies, and we are aiming to provide our delegation (the opportunity) to understand this industry in Brunei, and to explore the investment opportunities through briefings with government officials and through business networking with local companies," he said.
In his opinion, "The field of Smart Grid and LED technology is about energy efficiency; its electrical technology. According to the GOP meeting on global warming, all countries have the duty to reduce the CO2 emissions. Therefore this kind of technology is thus very necessary to reduce CO2 emissions and to respond to global warming.”
