Acer quietly releases Predator X49 X OLED gaming monitor across Australia, Germany and UK with 240 Hz refresh rate

News Source:

Months have passed since Acer revealed the Predator X49. Since then, the company has started selling many other gaming monitors, including the Predator X32 X3. However, it has decided to leave its latest 49-inch monitor on the shelf despite competitors like MSI, Philips and RedMagic having released equivalents like the Evnia 49M2C8900 (curr. $999.99 on Amazon).

In fact, Acer has now shared details about the Predator X49 V, which we have covered separately. As for the Predator X49 X, we cannot find any evidence to suggest that Acer has officially confirmed that the monitor is available anywhere. While that appears to remain true for North America, Acer has started selling the Predator X49 X elsewhere.

Specifically, the huge monitor can be ordered in Australia, Germany and the UK for AUD$2,899, €1,650 and £1,349.99, respectively. Incidentally, although Acer claims to be already shipping the monitor in Australia and Germany, Scan UK reports that the monitor will be unavailable in the UK until the end of September. In summary, the Predator X49X contains the following hardware; please see Acer's website for more information:

  • 5,120 x 1,440-pixel resolution
  • 32:9 aspect ratio
  • 240 Hz refresh rate
  • 1800R curvature
  • 250 nits SDR/1,000 nits HDR brightness
  • USB Type-C (90 W/DisplayPort Alt Mode) port
  • DisplayPort 1.4/HDMI 2.1 ports
