PowerSecure’s New LED-based Area Light Adopted by Two Utilities

PowerSecure International, Inc. has announced that two utilities adopted its new energy efficient LED-based Area Light, called SecureLiteTM.

These utilities have placed orders for several hundred units used to replace lighting on their systems as their traditional lights require repair or replacement, and for specific residential and commercial illumination projects.

PowerSecure expects additional orders will be received in 2012 and beyond as these initial orders are depleted.

Compared to a traditional High Pressure Sodium area light, PowerSecure’s SecureLite delivers a 67% reduction in energy usage, extends lighting life four-fold to approximately fifteen years.

The light is extremely durable and easy to maintain, including surge protection technology which surpasses industry standards, “tool less” entry, and housing and components that deliver 30+ years of service including the ability to replace the LEDs.

Additionally, SecureLite is Dark Sky compliant. The light incorporates PowerSecure’s breakthrough proprietary dusk-to-dawn control technology to maximize efficiency and reliability.
