Purpose & Significance of Competition
Since July 2009 when first competition for road-type semiconductor lamps was successfully held, LED solid-state lighting products have been with a sustained and rapid development, and were widely used in Shanghai World Expo in 2010. These further promote a fast development of new solid-state LED lighting products. With the LED lighting products in the market being gradually spread, people pay more attention on LED lighting products. Guangzhou Asian Games and Beijing Olympic Games and other major international events have witnessed the brilliance from LED application products. Now, we adopt the appraisal system to do on-site tests and evaluations for such products as road lamps in the following areas: the actual effects, real life of LED lamps, color temperature and other test indicators. The Organizing Committee will continue to show the green light source’s achievements, and provide a platform for self-assessment and tech exchange. This competition is intended to be a long-time and market-oriented test and evaluation service platform for the semiconductor product, and to be a service window with the semiconductor industry which is scientific, fair, just and open.
Conditions for Entry Product Selection
1. Entry products (semiconductor lamps) shall have the independent intellectual property rights with technical innovation, both domestic and international.
2. Participating companies in 2011 China (Shanghai) International LED Industry Technology Exhibition may be given priority to participate in this contest.
3. Participating products in 2009 & 2010 China (Shanghai) appraisal competition for road-type semiconductor lighting products may be given priority to this (no need first appraisal, instead, they can directly come to re-appraisal).
Entry Lighting Category:
Type 1: LED road lighting (street lights, tunnel lights)
Type 2: LED fluorescent lighting (fluorescent tubes, grid lamps and so forth)
Type 3: LED down light (diameter 12cm/19cm direct type surface mounted down-light)
Appraisal Procedure
First Phase: Preliminary Appraisal
March 25, 2011 to May 1 2010: Participating companies are registered with material’s review. They provide product materials (text and photo) via post-mail, fax or E-mail (download annex 1 of registration form). After receiving application materials, the confirmation notice and preliminary results are provided to the companies.
Second Phase: Sample Receipt
April 1, 2011 ~ April 30, according to the results of the product qualification review, the companies will be notified to provide their lamps with Shanghai Engineering & Tech Research Center for Semiconductor Lighting.
Third Phase: Testing:
May 1~ June 30, 2011, to do the field testing for the entry product, including two parts:
1. May 1~ May 15, 2011, to do the field test on optical parameters and optical-shape distribution;
2. April 30, ~ June 30, 2011, to do test on aging life and IP rating.
Forth Phase: Evaluation:
July 1, 2011 ~ July 5, 2011, experts from light sources, road lighting, street lighting fields and experts from road management departments nationwide, and common users will do their evaluations on relevant products according to product evaluation standards, and finalize the outstanding entry product selection list.
Fifth Phase: Show:
July 6, ~ July 9, 2011, evaluation results will be released while presenting certificates and products. In China (Shanghai) International LED Industry Technology Exhibition, a news conference will be held among media parties and industry insiders so as to deliver the competition results. Also, the excellent product certificates will be given. During the exhibition, all the products will be shown.
Test Fee: (Please refer to the charges specified in the registration form)
LED lights: 7000 Yuan / Lamp.
LED fluorescent lamps, down-lights, and spotlights: 5000 Yuan / Lamp
Note: Last year’s participating companies and the same types of products will enjoy 20 to 30%. For members from Shanghai Engineering & Tech Researcher Center for Semiconductor Lighting as well as members from Shanghai Semiconductor Lighting Engineering & Tech Association, the test fee i.e. 1000 Yuan / set will be born by Shanghai Engineering & Tech Researcher Center for Semiconductor Lighting.
