As a leading force in Taiwan’s photonics industry, UVT made a strong impression at the recently held Optics & Photonics International Exhibition (OPIE) 2025 in Yokohama. Showcasing a range of forward-looking photonic technologies and application solutions, UVT attracted significant attention from industry professionals. This year’s exhibition spotlighted UVT’s innovations in line light sources, laser light, UV-C LED components for water sterilization, and photodetectors (PD) across various wavelengths — all of which highlight the company’s robust R&D capabilities and versatile application potential. These cutting-edge developments further energize the future of the photonics industry.

In the fields of industrial inspection and 3D imaging, UVT’s line light solution earned high praise from professionals for its exceptional uniformity and brightness. Compared to traditional light sources, UVT’s line light delivers more precise and clearer illumination, significantly enhancing inspection efficiency and imaging quality. It is expected to play a vital role in areas such as smart manufacturing and quality control.

In the laser product segment, UVT introduced its Edge Emitting Laser (EEL) series, featuring 5W blue lasers and 1W red lasers. These lasers utilize an integrated reflective prism to convert side-emitted light into forward-emitted light. Available in a variety of packaging options—including metal can and quartz packages—they are well-suited for applications such as projection, inspection, and specialized lighting.

In response to the rapid growth of precision machining and medical aesthetics industries, UVT also showcased its advanced laser light technologies. Covering a wide wavelength range (460–1,350 nm) and various power outputs, these laser sources are designed to meet the diverse needs of different application scenarios. They reflect UVT’s strong capabilities in laser light control and system integration. Whether for high-precision material cutting, microfabrication, or non-invasive aesthetic medical treatments, UVT’s laser technologies offer reliable and efficient solutions.

With rising awareness of environmental protection and public health in recent years, UVT has actively invested in the development of related technologies. A key highlight at this year’s exhibition was its UV-C LED component for water sterilization, operating within the 250–300 nm wavelength range—an important milestone in UVT’s efforts within environmental technology. By leveraging high-efficiency and durable UV-C LEDs and modules, UVT provides safe, eco-friendly, and highly effective solutions for water purification. These technologies are suitable for a wide range of applications, from residential and commercial to industrial water treatment, contributing meaningfully to the protection of human health.

In addition, UVT’s technological breakthroughs in photodetectors (PDs), covering a wide spectral range from 200 to 2,400 nm, also drew considerable attention. The showcased photodiode components feature high sensitivity and fast response times, enabling precise detection across various wavelengths. These high-performance photodiodes are well-suited for applications such as environmental monitoring, spectral analysis, and biomedical sensing. Their advanced capabilities are expected to elevate both the technical standards and application scope across multiple industries.

UVT expressed that through its participation in the OPIE exhibition in Yokohama, the company aims not only to showcase its latest technological achievements to the industry, but also to foster new partnerships and jointly explore broader application prospects for photonic technologies.
