Toshiba Electronics Europe nine-channel LED driver

A nine-channel LED driver, which features an I2C bus interface and a constant current output drive capability of up to 50mA per channel, has been created by Toshiba Electronics Europe.

The TB62779FNG LED driver offers output current accuracy between channels of ±3% and between ICs of ±6%. Operating from a supply voltage of between 3.0V and 5.5V, the new driver has a maximum output voltage of 28V.

The IC provides nine seven-bit PWM dimming controller and nine constant current driver channels. Drivers are divided into three RGB blocks, with the output current of each channel independently adjusted using an external resistor.

The chip can be configured with an ID address of up to six bits, with the I2C bus interface simplifying connection to the host processor providing the DATA and CLK control signals.

The TB62779FNG is available in a 20-pin SSOP package.
