Nichia Fights Its Patent Right against with Harvatek and Several Germany Distributors

Recently, Nichia has filed two lawsuits.

One patent infringement lawsuit relates to a Taiwanese LED manufacturer Harvatek. Nichia believes two different white LED products (serial numbers HT-V116TW and HT-U158TW) manufactured by Harvatek have infringe its patent (EP936682[DE69702929]),so it filed the lawsuit in Germany at the District Court Düsseldorf. The service of complaint against Harvatek was done on November 9, 2010.

Then, on November 10, 2010, Nichia also filed patent infringement lawsuits in Germany at the District Court Düsseldorf against several German distributors selling the above mentioned Harvatek white LEDs, namely The Republic Group Handelsvertretung GmbH, MSC Microcomputers Systems Components Vertriebs GmbH, “Gleichmann & Co.” Electronics GmbH, Glyn Jones GmbH & Co. Vertrieb von elektronischen Bauelementen KG, Mouser Electronics, Inc., seeking an injunction, damages, recall and destruction. So far , the service of these complaints has not been completed.
